I recommend using a mod manager, like Nexus Mod Manger NMM or Mod Organizer MO. In both cases, you can download mod directly trough the manager, when you have been logged in Nexus with your browser.
Then you will have to activate the mod in the manager and that will set them active. For NMM: click or doble click, depending on your settings the mod in the list. For MO: set mod active from left panel mod list. In both cases, mind your load order. Run LOOT always after installing new mods. Last edited by Ilja ; 12 Sep, pm.

A truly manual approach means to download the mod files to your computer, extracting whatever files and overwriting your skyrim data folder with the mod files. You can see why Ilja and everyone really recommends a mod manager Every mod you install manually will overwrite EACH OTHER even, depending on the order in which you paste the files over. You will have to delete files to get rid of this manual mod, and somehow replace every file with their originals to get back to a previous state.
